family day off

Friday ,my extra day-off turned out actually great, Andie,my wife was able to go to her dentist appointment .Me and Ardie (my son) ,tagged along so that afterwards,we can have a family day .

We decided to get a take-out lunch from "Pin-Pin", a restaurant featuring filipino-chinese cuisine. It's not so long ago since we got introduced to this restaurant but since then ,everytime we go to our dentist, we always want to eat there or have a take-out to enjoy.

This place takes me back from my childhood, my old-time Filipino favorites like sizzling sisig , inihaw na liempo, lechon kawali, bicol express, embotido, pinoy pork bb-q , kare-kare and more... the delicious appetizers like lumpia sariwa , calamares, lumpia shanghai, tokwa't baboy & kilawing tanique to soups like sinigang, molo, sotanghon, papaitan ,hototai & lapaz batchoy. All of them prepared very tastefully and skillfully.

This time we decided on the tokwa't baboy, a pork and fried tofu in spicy soya-vinegar sauce.

The Kare-kare, oxtail and beef tripe with vegetables in peanut sauce.

And of course ,one of my all-time favorites, Crispy Pata , deep-fried pork hock ;-)

We went to get some grocery shortafter and then a quick stop at the public library and home sweet home , to enjoy our delicious food :-)
